Livestock Show

One of my favorite (maybe our only) family activities was with our livestock show adventures.  Now David's family is making their own memories of family activities.  So proud of David and his family as they competed in the 2014 Lampasas County Livestock Show:

Long time, No Post

It looks like it has been a year and half since I have posted anything to this blog.  This is designed to be a personal blog and not used publicly like my Creative Inspiration Blog.  It is mostly designed for those who care about me personally and want to know about my life.

I have just returned from East Texas where I attended my 40th high school class reunion from New Diana School.  I attended that school from 1963 (third grade) until 1973 (12th grade).  Have I changed very much?

A Wonderful Mother's Day Weekend

My sweet wonderful daughter surprised me Friday morning by coming home for the weekend  It was awesome having her here.  She needed some R &R that only a childhood home can supply and I could give her re-assuring looks, touches and hugs.
Then we had the Evans for lunch on Sunday for Rachel's birthday.  It was most enjoyable as well.
A nice visit with David and family at their house, seeing the new show lambs.
Today was a shopping day at the outlet mall with Suzan before she left on the airplane.

Country Living Fair

Yesterday was a fun day at the Country Living Fair in Austin.  Many vendors that offered items seen in the magazine.  Made me want to go straight to the thrift store or garage sale-ing.  Lots of fun.

Squash Dish

When you look at this picture, you will wonder why in the world I am in the "creativity"business. lol. However, the creativity came in trying to make a healthy dish with a specific type of summer squash in mind. I am more concerned with taste than beauty, which is obvious. This is simply called "Squash Dish".  The recipe....

Squash Dish

1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
8 oz. slice pork, sausage or bacon
1 can tomatoes with chili's
1 regular bag of frozen whole kernel corn
4 sliced summer squash

Saute' onion and garlic with bacon or port.  Add chili tomatoes and frozen whole kernel corn.  Cook slowly.  Later, slice squash and lay on top - let cook until tender.  Salt and pepper to taste (or use a seasoning mix of your choice).
